Here are some tips to make sure your E-transfer Sell Transaction is successful:
To help ensure your transaction is fast, smooth, and successful, we've put together some important tips and best practices.
Following these recommendations can help you avoid common issues like delayed payments, failed transactions, or having to start over. Whether you're using this service for the first time or you're a regular user, taking a moment to review these tips can save you time and hassle.
Never send to someone else's bank account
For security reasons, always enter your own personal Interac email or phone number when completing a transaction. You should only send e-Transfers to your own personal email address. E-Transfers are non-reversible so if they are sent to a third party's email, there is no way to retrieve these funds.
Send the exact amount requested
Make sure to send the exact amount of cryptocurrency shown in your transaction. Sending too little or too much can cause processing errors or require manual review.
Be aware of withdrawal fees charged by your wallet provider
Some cryptocurrency exchanges or wallet providers charge a withdrawal fee when sending cryptocurrency. Make sure to account for this fee so you can send the exact amount required for your transaction.
Double-check the email /phone number entered
Before confirming your transaction, review the email address or phone number you entered for Interac delivery. Even a small typo can prevent you from receiving your funds. You should only send e-Transfers to your personal email address or phone number. E-Transfers are non-reversible, so if they are sent to a third party's email, there is no way to retrieve these funds.
Complete your transaction in the 30-minute window
Your Sell transaction is valid for a limited time. If you miss the deadline, the transaction may expire, and you'll need to start again with a new quote. Sending after 30 minutes can cause delays, processing errors, or require manual review.
Save your transaction ID
After confirming your phone number, you'll be provided a transaction ID; make sure to keep a copy of it. If Interac auto-deposit is not enabled on your account, this ID will be used as the password to accept your e-transfer. It can also help our support team quickly locate your transaction if you ever need assistance.
Do not reuse cryptocurrency deposit wallet addresses
Each transaction generates a unique cryptocurrency deposit address. Reusing an old address may cause your funds to go unrecognized or delayed.
