Best Practices for Selling Bitcoin Online via INTERAC e-Transfer
Follow these tips to help ensure your INTERAC e-Transfer Sell transaction is completed quickly and smoothly.
Whether you're using our service for the first time or you're a returning customer, these best practices can help you avoid common issues, such as delayed payments, failed transactions, and processing errors.
1. Use Your Own Bank Account Details
For security reasons, always enter your own personal email address or mobile phone number linked to your bank account when selecting your INTERAC e-Transfer delivery method.
Never use someone else's email address or phone number. INTERAC e-Transfers are generally irreversible once deposited, and funds sent to a third party may not be recoverable.
2. Send the Exact Amount of Cryptocurrency Required
Always send the exact amount of cryptocurrency displayed for your transaction.
Sending too little or too much may result in processing delays, errors, or a manual review.
3. Account for Cryptocurrency Withdrawal Fees
Some cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet providers charge a withdrawal fee when you send cryptocurrency.
Before initiating your transfer, check the applicable fees and ensure that the exact amount required for your transaction will be received. If you're unsure how fees are applied by your wallet or exchange, verify this before sending your funds.
4. Double-Check Your Email Address or Phone Number
Before confirming your transaction, carefully review the email address or mobile phone number you entered for INTERAC e-Transfer delivery.
Even a small typo can prevent you from receiving your payment. Make sure the contact information is correct and belongs to you.
5. Complete Your Transaction Within 30 Minutes
Your Sell transaction is valid for a limited time. Make sure you send your cryptocurrency within the 30-minute window indicated for your transaction.
If the transaction expires before you send your cryptocurrency, you may need to start again and obtain a new quote. Sending cryptocurrency after the deadline may result in delays, processing errors, or a manual review.
6. Keep Your Transaction ID
After verifying your phone number, you'll receive a Transaction ID. Keep a copy of this ID until your transaction is complete.
If INTERAC Auto Deposit is not enabled on your bank account, your Transaction ID will be used as the password to accept your INTERAC e-Transfer.
Your Transaction ID can also help our support team locate your transaction more quickly if you need assistance.
7. Use the Deposit Address Generated for Each Transaction
Each transaction generates a unique cryptocurrency deposit address.
Always use the deposit address displayed for your current transaction. Do not reuse an address from a previous transaction, as doing so may delay the processing of your funds or make it difficult to identify your payment.
